Maggie Hofmann ––

Smocking made easy!

Calling all sewists, cosplayers, and more! Smocking no longer has to be a guessing game (especially for beginners) with these helpful stencils by Marggie Hofmann, author of Smocking Secrets. Use any of the 4 templates provided to create the perfect smocking grid. The templates come in three sizes: 3/4”, 1”, and 1 1/4” grids. Plus, larger grids can be created by skipping a box, for example the 3/4” grid becomes a 1 1/2” grid when every other hole is marked. Don’t worry, numbers are printed on each side of the template to help keep track of where you are in marking your pattern.

  • Includes (3) 6” x 9” durable plastic stencils (3/4”, 1”, 1 1/4” grids) to mark the perfect smocking grid every time!
  • Smocking helps you get exactly the texture and special effects you want for each area of your costume
  • Booklet accompanies stencil templates and explains basic stitching techniques for 4 useful smocking designs: Arrow, Lattice, Shells, and Braid
