String Frenzy Blog Tour Kickoff!

String Frenzy Blog Tour Kickoff!

Posted by Deirdre Quirk on Apr 5th 2019

Welcome to the blog tour kickoff for String Frenzy! True to Bonnie Hunter's scrap-tastic style, this book (and this blog tour!) is an unabashed celebration of all things scrappy: strings, strips, chunks, crumbs, and all the other tiny bits that often get tossed out. No more!

As Bonnie says in her dedication: "I dedicate this book to all of the quilters past who made such beautifully unique string quilts from what little their scrap bags had to offer. Undoubtedly, they never knew what an art form they were creating, one string at a time. Their quilts continue to inspire and delight me. There are more string quilts to come!"

Geese on a String was inspired by an antique quilt purchased in Greensboro, North Carolina.

"To my readers—None of this would be possible without you, and I want you to know just how grateful I am to have you along as well. You understand my constant need of fabric, thread, and sewing time. I understand yours. You are my happy place. Let’s make more quilts!"

Silver Linings was created with gray fabric from the two laundry basketfuls sent to Bonnie from all over the world after she sent out a request for gray scraps to her readers.

We can't wait to see what some fabulous quilters—some scrap quilters, some not—make of Bonnie's book! Follow along for reviews, new projects, and of course, lots of scrappy goodness.
