Sew Lingerie Virtual Book Tour

Sew Lingerie Virtual Book Tour

Posted by Maddie Kulig on Nov 27th 2023

Hello everyone! Maddie from Madalynne here. I am thrilled to be guest posting at C&T Publishing's blog to kick off the blog tour for my new book, Sew Lingerie! Over the course of the next few weeks, a fantastic group of sewing and lingerie bloggers, influencers, brands and businesses will be sharing their reviews of Madalynne's first ever book as well as giving away an E-copy to one of their followers. I'll be posting tips, tricks, how-to's and more on Madalynne's Instagram, which you can follow here. Before we get into the book, first let me tell you a little bit about Madalynne and what we offer out of our super cool studio in Philadelphia.

Madalynne is a woman-owned (that's me!), Philadelphia-based (same city where Rocky climbed those famous steps), lingerie brand offering lingerie you can buy or sew yourself. What does that mean? For almost every style, Madalynne offers a DIY kit that a home sewist can make themselves or a “ready made” that is hand-crafted by a small team of sewists in our studio. We support and highlight lingerie for all people, sizes, ages, races, ethnicities and genders. Madalynne combines an attention to sewing and fit with exclusive fabrics, prints and color - most of the fabrics are developed in-house and made exclusively for Madalynne. We also offer in-person and virtual classes, workshops and multi-day retreats, online tutorials, fittings and 1-on-1 consultations and lessons.

Now let's move onto the book! It's a bold statement - I truly believe that this is the book that the bra making world has been waiting for. It literally doesn't exist! In addition to covering all the basics - fabrics, supplies, pattern making, tips, tricks - it also has 11 (total) bra, panty, bodysuit, swim and activewear patterns that are suitable for all levels of sewists. In the book, it was extremely important to me to stick to a Madalynne motto - highlight all types of people and bodies. One model has alopecia (wearing the Margo bralette + Ross panty), another model is a breast cancer survivor (wearing the Henrietta one piece), and another model is Asian, a mom and has stretch marks from pregnancy. I truly believe that everyone can feel and look good when wearing lingerie that fits. The daughter of the breast cancer survivor texted me the day after the photo shoot to say how much her mother enjoyed it – that it was the first time in a long time that she felt good about her body.

I hope this book brings you loads of information, but equally, I hope it brings you the confidence and courage to dive into me-made lingerie.
