Book Review of Heirloom Embroidery from Brian Haggard

Book Review of Heirloom Embroidery from Brian Haggard

The concept of iron-on transfers is certainly not a new one, but the designs that Brian has included in this book are fresh and delightful. They are based on more historical designs but have a timeless quality about them. Each exudes romance with the addition of swirls, vines, roses and buds. There are over 225 different designs to use for embroidery; so many to choose from! Several include drawn buttons which could be replaced with actual buttons...and vintage or sparkly buttons would really be great in these too!

I'm certainly going to have fun adding these designs to future crazy quilts. There is also the yoke of a jean jacket that I'm thinking would be greatly enhanced with a wheat design from the book...so retro back to the 70's for me. Ha! You are sure to fall in love with these transfers, just as I have.
