Ruth Ann lives in beautiful Fife Lake, Michigan, with her husband and children. They own a small-town quilt shop. Ruth Ann teaches quilt classes in the Riverroom Studio above the shop and hosts an annual quilter's retreat at a nearby rustic lodge.
Her mother is a quilter, as were her grandmothers, so boxes of quilt fabric and various sewing machines have always been a part of Ruth Ann's life. She has an extensive personal library of quilting books and patterns and has been reading and experimenting with a variety of techniques and fabrics for more than 25 years.
She is a lover of classical and praise/worship music and is a pianist at her church. She gives glory to God for all the good gifts in her life. Her favorite life moments are spent with her family and grandchildren, though her quilting, praise band, and hiking friends come in a close second. She enjoys backpacking canoe trips into the wilderness areas of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Isle Royale, where she always has a sketchpad in her pack and finds design inspiration in the sights, sounds, and solitude of the North Woods.
