On one of her never-ending quests to escape schoolwork, Erin wandered into a small quilt shop in upstate New York. Needless to say, she was hooked. Having grown up in a sewing family, she dove right in and attempted a queen-size quilt. Her very next quilt combined both piecing and appliqué in a small baby quilt. She was so in love with this quilt that she made it 5 more times!
After years of making quilts she decided to try designing her own and found she loved that too. She enjoys all aspects of quilting but gravitates to appliqué because it allows her to turn her many drawings into quilts.
Erin Russek is a veteran pattern designer. Her projects were continuous top sellers on Pattern Spot. She spent much of her career on staff at McCall’s Quilting, Quilter’s Newsletter, Quiltmaker, and Love of Quilting. When not quilting she can be found enjoying the outdoor life in Louisville, Colorado.
