More Crafts of the Moment

Take a peek and hear about some of the beautiful projects we are working on right now at C&T Publishing!

Jen: I have an embroidery project I've been working on off and on for a while now. Good for in front of the TV or long car rides. . .

Gailen: I just made my daughter a new pencil case (nothing at Target really struck her fancy) and I'm enjoying playing around with kraft-tex ideas when I have sewing studio time. The closest thing to hand most often is my knitting bag because it's portable and I'm on the go a lot. I'm working on a poncho right now, mostly taking the pattern from a free Love Knitting pattern. Of course I've changed the colors, added a couple of additional stripes, and altered the guage to match my chosen yarn. . . But it's really cute and at my incredible knitting pace (incredibly SLOW that is!) I should have it finished for next fall.

Jennifer: Sadly, I have not been crafting as of late! The most recent project I’ve worked on is an ink drawing of a dryad (a wood nymph), which is still in progress. I’ve been working on it for a while now because I keep putting it down, only to pick it up weeks or months later. I think I’m more pleased with the results so far because I didn’t rush.

Roxane: Sadly, right now it is the season for watching my oldest play volleyball and helping the youngest with homework, so there is no go-to craft at the moment! The most recent project was a new round of T-shirt bags. Nothing complex, but my seven-year-old boy and I like to make them together. You find a cool T-shirt at a thrift shop, sew up the bottom, then cut out the arms and neck hole to create a grocery bag! Re-usable and cool.

Liz: Having fun with reclaimed wood and chalk paint with old metal pieces like faucet handles, gears, furnace grates, and so on.

Tim: Shhhhh . . . I'm not a crafter.

Sarah: I am learning how to knit and can't say it's a pretty sight. I'm not a crafty person, so even the beginning of my project is pretty sad to look at, but I'm determined this winter to keep going. Also, not quite a craft, but we desperately need new floors in my kitchen and foyer, so a lot of weekend time lately has been spent trying to find the right floor for us. I am enjoying apps where you can overlay floors onto your own photos to see how they will look. There's an app for everything.
