John Kubiniec

John Kubiniec has been involved in crafty things all his life. His father was a woodworker, his mother and sisters were always making things, and growing up he was in the thick of it all. He dabbled in woodworking, candle making, cross stitch, embroidery, leather crafting, crocheting, and he was getting serious with ceramics before he found his way to quilting. He was a runner-up in the 2010 McCall’s Design Star Competition. His quilt patterns have appeared in McCall’s Quilting, McCall’s Quick Quilts, The Fat Quarterly and Fons & Porter Easy Quilts. He has designed patterns for Windham Fabrics, RJR Fabrics, and Red Rooster. John was one of the panelists at the American Folk Art Museum’s program Quiltmakers: Real Men Quilt in June of 2011, and his HQ Story was chosen to be part of Handi Quilter’s 2012 Ad Campaign. He is a BERNINA Ambassador and served as a tester in the development of the new BERNINA Q24 and Q20 Longarm Machines.
