My Cozy Village's Alter Ego

My Cozy Village's Alter Ego

Posted by Deirdre Quirk on Jan 22nd 2016

Already one of the most popular new releases for January, Felicia T. Brenoe's pattern pack, My Cozy Village, combines 12 adorable appliqué blocks with Japanese taupe fabrics, hand appliqué, and detailed embroidery embellishments for the charming, folk art feel you see on the cover.

But Cozy Village also has an alter ego: Blooming Village, the vivid, fun, energetic four-block wallhanging below.

By using high-contrast and medium- to large-scale prints that aren't matched too closely, fusible raw-edge machine appliqué, and foregoing embroidery and embellishment, Felicia creates a whole different look from the same pattern. And she provides full instructions for both projects!

So if you've been eyeing My Cozy Village, but thinking the style isn't quite you, think again! Or, if you're the kind of quilter who likes to mix things up, you'll be getting two projects in one. Either way, Felicia gives you all the tips, techniques, and information you need to create a village that's uniquely you.
