Happy November! Jump into the new month with this easy and adorable Swirling Leaves Place Mat. Sure to brighten any Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving table, this place mat would look great with a candle or serving dish atop it.
finished place mat: 18˝ × 121/2˝ oval
Materials
Brown: 2 fat quarters for background and backing
Gold, rust, and green: Scraps for leaves and stems
Brown: 1/3 yard for bias binding
Paper-backed fusible web: 1/3 yard
Batting: 22˝ × 16˝
Cutting
Cut 2 Oval shaped circles as a background for your patterned leaves.
Appliquéing
DOWNLOAD SWIRLING LEAVES PLACE MAT PATTERN
1. Cut 7 each of pattern pieces 1 and 2.
2. Appliqué the pieces to the background.
Finishing
1. Layer the place mat top with the batting and backing. Baste or pin.
2. Quilt as desired and bind with bias binding.
