Judy Gauthier’s new book, Tantalizing Table Toppers, has over 20 patterns for unique and useful table quilts and accessories. But what sets it apart from the typical quilt pattern book is Judy’s artistic yet accessible approach to creating a beautiful table. Her book is a mini course in making and arranging artful settings in which family and friends can enjoy a meal, a snack, or just each other’s company.

Judy’s tabletop philosophy? “The best part about a table runner is that it can instantly change the look of your kitchen or dining room and make you happy every time you enter that room. Even if your kitchen is nothing more than a tiny table and a stove, or a counter, a well-placed table runner can make your heart sing every time it comes into view.”

It’s hard to choose a favorite among Judy’s fresh designs, but I can narrow it down to four for my own home. To Have and to Hold is an easy sew, but dynamic, engaging, and full of color. Where All Roads Lead features a color palette I love but could also be made to coordinate with any other decorating scheme. Cross My Heart is on my to-do list since I gave away my only Valentine-themed table quilt a little while ago and Catch of the Day will be a great project for learning to create with clam shell shapes.

Check out Judy’s book soon and see which of her designs are your favorites! Happy quilting!
