Beaded Embroidery Stitching Blog Tour Kickoff!

Beaded Embroidery Stitching Blog Tour Kickoff!

Posted by Christen Brown on Apr 8th 2019

I am proud to announce that my book on bead embroidery and bead weaving is HERE! Within the 160 pages of Beaded Embroidery Stitching you will find information on the types of beads and embellishments that you can use in the 125 bead-embroidery and bead-woven stitches. There are over eight projects, ranging from beginning to advanced, including wallhangings, a sewing caddy, jewelry, and more. I have included additional inspiration for each project, showing a different color way, or a different take on the design, and a gallery section for more ideas.

I grew up in the '60s and have always loved beads, charms, buttons, and any sort of treasure that was colorful and shiny. I was recently going through some old family photos and found this image of myself wearing my grandmother’s dressing gown, her hat, handbag, and of course her jewels. This says it all!

I think an important chapter in the book is Beads and Embellishments: Candy with no Calories! There are images of all types of beads and the sizes and colorations that they come in. Also included are the larger beads and additional elements that you can incorporate into your creations.

This is one of my favorite pieces, because it incorporates so many types of beads, including shell, abalone, and coral. There are two walrus charms that I found in my grandfather’s jewelry box. How cool is it that I got to use them!

I love to work with all types of colors and color combinations. The title for this piece is Primarily Crazy for Kevin (my guy of thirty-four years), and his favorite color is RED. I always thank my family for letting me play in my room. If you look closely you will see Kevin the frog and my daughter Gwen the ladybug represented and in a place of honor.

There are some amazingly talented people that are participating in this tour. I want to thank each and every one of them for agreeing to participate in the launch of my new book.

Please visit their blogs to read what they have to say, and for a chance to win an ebook of Beaded Embroidery Stitching. You can enter C&T's giveaway right HERE
