"Patrick has produced another totally fun book for quilters! The projects in 'A Patrick Lose Christmas' range from bed quilts to banners & table runners & every one of them makes me smile. The assembly of each colorful project is illustrated so well that even beginners would be able to make any of the quilts. The hardest part of this book is deciding which delightfully whimsical project to make first."

Lose has spent his professional years in a variety of creative fields. He began his career as an actor and singer, which eventually led him to designing costumes for stage and screen. An artist and illustrator since childhood, Lose has worked in many mediums, but is probably best known for his successful and long-running collections of fabric from Timeless Treasures and Moda that include his trademark marbleized solids, which are trendsetters in the industry.
Lose says one of his favorite Christmas sentiments is from Thomas Tusser: 'At Christmas play and make good cheer, for Christmas comes but once a year.' A Patrick Lose Christmas helps quilters to do the same. Full-size patterns and complete instructions in the book make assembly easy.”

"I never have been less than 100% pleased with Patrick's prior books. While on vacation I saw his "A Patrick Lose Chrismas", glanced at it briefly and saw one quilt I liked. That was enough to make me immediately buy the book. Upon close examination I found 3 projects I want to do and have tracked down the fabrics used in them.THANKS TO PATRICK for his help with this. He replied to my email the same day I wrote it with a full page of info answering all my questions. Not only is he an expert quilter, but a sincere, helpful human being. He deserves to have top notch book sales!"

"A Patrick Lose Christmas: Whimsical Projects to Deck the Halls has twelve easy quilting projects that are designed to be done using the applique method and machine quilting. Using the applique and machine method is what allows the projects to be finished quickly, but there are also instructions included for those who want to do the piecing and quilting by hand.
An Overview of A Patrick Lose Christmas
The book starts out with some general instructions to be used in in all of the projects, an overview of the applique and machine quilting method and a detailed list of tools you will need to complete the projects. Each individual project has a list of fabric colors and the quantities needed. There are instructions and patterns for twelve projects in this book including the somewhat traditional Christmastime Bed Quilt and a Christmas Cabin Table Runner. Other projects are more whimsical as the title suggests, an ice skating Santa, a jolly snowman and a crazy nutcracker just for starters. Each project includes detailed instructions specific to that project with plenty of pictures showing examples of pattern arrangements.
What Readers Will Love About This Christmas Craft Book
The first thing readers will enjoy about this book is the cute patterns. The happy Santa, the silly reindeer and jolly snowman bring back memories of the joy of the season we experience when we are young. These finished pieces would make great decorations or great gifts, and their simplicity makes them easy to complete even during the busy holiday season. The book is printed on thick glossy paper in full color and can stand up to repeated use over the years. The detailed instructions are well written and easy to follow.
What Readers Should Know
While the instructions are easy to follow, this book is designed for those who have at least some experience with machine quilting and using applique. The book would be most appropriate for an intermediate level quilter who is ready to take on larger projects, or an advanced quilter looking for some quick and easy projects. The book shows examples using very specific patterns and colors of fabric, and while some are pretty common not all of them may be available in your area. In the event you cannot find a certain fabric your project may look slightly different from the examples, but that should not detract but only add to its unique character..."
