"This is a great book to have when you need to make a baby gift! Quilts, bibs, special blankies, wall hangings and more are offered in this book to cover a vast number of baby needs and gift ideas. LOTS of applique designs included! Fantastic color examples. Something for every taste. Boys, girls and undefined are all included in this book. My favorite is the sheep done in black and white with just a touch of other colors added. All of the quilts are very eye catching but many of the included projects are not quilted. I've reached an age where the "kids" that grew up with our kids are having babies. Even if we aren't close to those "kids" now, I would love to give them something special when the baby is born. This book offers me all kinds of options. Time is usually my worst enemy at achieving homemade gifts. Bibs and pillows using the MANY applique options offered in the book make it possible to make a creative homemade gift on a limited time-budget... and use up scraps for a limited monetary budget. It does not go into full detail on things like adding the border to a quilt so you need to know the basics or have an information source such as quilting.about.com handy to follow all of the directions."

"'I'm already a fan of Kim Schaefer's cute and whimsical designs, and this book doesn't disappoint. Most of the applique consists of large shapes, and there really is nothing fiddly or intimidating about any of the projects. There are six different collections in the book - Moon and Stars; Cars, Buses, Trucks and Trains; Starfish and Friends; Zoo Parade (on the cover); Somebunny Loves Me; and Counting Sheep. Each collection consists of many different projects. A quilt, a security blanket, a bib, a wall or doorknob hanging, and either a pillow or growth chart. If you're in a hurry, just make a bib or two, or a security blanket and a door hanger. Or if you're really ambitious or an early planner, make the whole collection for the new baby. This book is easily adaptable, simple to follow, and full of cuteness. Great for any baby gifting occasion!"
