"Everyone has a favorite picture of children, pets, houses, dogs, cats, goldfish... With this book, crafters can turn those photos into quilts that will be cherished for generations to come. Skill-building projects with instructions show how to create these heirlooms. A gallery of work from some of today's most innovative quilters for inspiration gives ideas for capturing old memories and making new ones."

"Unless you actually died several years ago (and don't know it yet), you have a scanner and a computer. It's waaay past time to bite the bullet and learn how to use them to enhance your quilt making. I thought there were a lot of pretty good ideas in this book about quilt design, equipment, and technique (things I sure as heck would never have come up with on my own, genius that I am.) It's worth a peek to see if it can spark your imagination. And why wouldn't it? You're a quilting rock star!"

Review   Patchwork & Quilting - May 1, 2008
"One of the growing number of books encouraging us to experiment with new techniques. We are invited to 'play with images,' using a digital camera, an inkjet printer and pre-treated fabric. We are told it is imposisble to beak anything in this combination of 'soft and high tech' and to always carry a camera. The processes are explained clearly from fabrics for printing, avoiding jamming the printer, to enlarging, cropping and layering images. The 13 projects start with simple images, with instructions on constructing and assembling the quilts. The Gallery has amazing quilts. I liked a quilt made with motifs created by finger painting. A sound introduction to a new exciting technique."

Review   UK Fabrications - March 1, 2008
"This is a must-have guide to transforming and printing your favourite images on to fabric. Tips and techniques for altering your photographs on the computer using Photoshop are all explained, including cropping and enlarging, combining and layering images, filtering and distorting images, and more. There are 13 innovative projects with step-by-step instructions and different digital techniques to try and there is inspiration in abundance in the gallery of over 40 quilts selected for the Innovative Fabric Imagery special exhibit at International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston, 2007. If you enjoy photography as well as quilting, then this is a definite must-have: it means you can combine your two favourite hobbies and instead of storing those images on your memory card, you can make good use of them."

Review   The Professional Quilter - July 1, 2008
“Every year we see more and more quilts with images that have been created with digital technology. In 2007, C&T Publishing sponsored an Innovative Fabric Imagery special exhibit at International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston. The majority of this book features a gallery of more than 40 of the inspiring entries in that exhibit. The book also includes the basics of working with photos on your computer with 19 projects. The projects range from 'Ocean Sunset' by Gloria Hansen, which features a large photograph printed in four sections, cut into squares and then fused on a background, ending up with an attic windows look, to 'Gramsie' by Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero, which turns a photo into a kaleidoscope as the focal point of the quilt. The book is full of ideas to inspire you to put your computer and its imaging software to creative use.”
