Diane D. Knott

Diane D. Knott was born and raised in south Louisiana. While growing up, Diane loved sleeping under beautiful hand-stitched quilts made by her great-grandmother. After graduating from High Point University in North Carolina, she spent almost a decade as a flight attendant for American Airlines. When Diane was expecting her first child, she enrolled in a quilting class to learn how to make a baby quilt. Almost 20 years, three children, and many, many quilts later, she loves quilting for family and friends. Quilts made from the scraps of those gifted quilts are her favorites because there are memories in every stitch!

Diane is a contributing writer to the craftsy.com website. Her designs are published in various quilt magazines and calendars on a regular basis. She enjoys sharing her quilts with guilds and groups through trunk shows and workshops. Her teaching and workshop schedule can be found on her website (butterflythreadsquilting.com). When she’s not quilting, she can be found cheering for her kids at their sporting events, tending her vegetable garden, reading historical fiction, or traveling with her family. She lives in north Georgia with her husband, Bill, and their three children.
