Book and Product Submissions

Submitting a Book Proposal

Thank you for your interest in publishing a book with us! C&T Publishing is always excited to review new work and techniques in the areas of quilting, fiber arts, craft sewing, general sewing, and fabric based mixed media. We love that you thought of submitting to us and appreciate the opportunity to review your work.

C&T publishes approximately 50 titles per year—please download our current catalog here to see our current selection. Over our 25 years in business we have achieved strong sales distribution through book stores, quilt shops, and craft, needlework, and sewing stores. We are also at the forefront of our industry through the development of simultaneously offering both print and e-books, and are accepting submissions for our new imprint geared toward the craft sewer: Stash!

As the Acquisitions Editor here, I encourage you to submit your proposal via email. Your proposal must consist of the following documents:

  1. Cover letter
  2. Book Proposal Questionnaire: click to download a WORD doc or a PDF
  3. Sample writing and images of all proposed projects must be attached and/or sample images of completed work for process based proposals

Physical samples of your work are not necessary at this stage only photographs or electronic images are required. If your proposal advances in our review process, we may request samples at that time.

I want your proposal to have the best opportunity for success, so please do take some time to be sure your proposal is complete. Bear in mind that your attention to detail and accuracy in following our guidelines is our first impression. I appreciate the work it takes to get a proposal to us and am more than happy to receive emails prior to completing a formal proposal should you have any questions about the process. My contact details are: Susanne Woods, Acquisitions Editor at susannew@ctpub.com or if you do not have computer access our mailing address is: 1651 Challenge Drive, Concord, CA 94520.

Your proposal is important to us and we review each thoroughly; therefore, please allow 8-10 weeks for our review process. Due to the amount of time we dedicate to each proposal, we request that you do not simultaneously submit your proposal to other publishers.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your submission, please feel free to contact me or one of the other members of the Acquisition Team listed below:
