"Quilts of Contra Costa" Exhibit
May 3 - June 22

CONCORD, CALIFORNIA, May 1, 2008 — A new exhibit of historic quilts, jointly sponsored by C&T Publishing and the Contra Costa County Historical Society's History Center, will appear May 3 through June 22, 2008, at the Contra Costa History Center located at 610 Main Street in Martinez, CA.

There will be an opening day reception this Saturday, May 3rd from 1-4 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The exhibit features quilts dating back to the late 1800’s that have been collected from museums and historical societies throughout Contra Costa County. Other highlights include antique treadle sewing machines and an antique thimble collection.

Books from C&T Publishing that provide historical context for the quilts on display will also appear throughout the exhibit. The featured titles include:
