C&T Manuscript Submissions

Quilting & Fabric Project Manuscript Submissions

Thank you for expressing an interest in publishing a book with our company. We invite you to submit a manuscript proposal. Please send the following items for review.

  • Completed Author Questionnaire (required)
  • Completed Book Information Questionnaire (required)
  • Sample illustrations
  • Large sampling of photographs - traditional or printed digital photos - these can be of your work and/or your students work (required)
  • At least one sample project with step-by-step instructions (required)
  • Completed samples of your best work - actual finished pieces, not photographs (required)(items will be returned)
  • Please let us know if you have any release date requirements and why.

The Acquisitions Team will review your proposal. Assessments and decisions are made on the basis of the information you have provided us. We will consider the following questions while making our decision regarding your proposal.

  • What makes this book unique from and comparable to what is already on the market?
  • Who is the audience/customer?
  • Is C&T Publishing the right publisher for this material?

Which proposals get our attention? What makes us choose one manuscript over another? If you are sending in a manuscript on a technique book, we like to see new concepts and techniques, or new presentations of favorite ideas and techniques. Include some great examples and you will get our attention quickly. Dynamic design is hard to resist. If this is your forté, show us what you have done. If you have found an area in quiltmaking and/or needlework that is insufficiently covered by current books on the market, or have new information that quiltmakers, needleworkers, and fiber artists will be interested in, please let us know.

We publish approximately 40 titles per year, predominantly for the fabric and fiber art market. Along with quilt shops, we have distribution in the book trade, craft, needlework, and sewing stores.

If you've never written a book before, don't worry. We can help.

We circulate manuscripts on a monthly basis. The review process may take two months or more. We look forward to receiving your proposal and hearing more about you and your ideas. We thank you for thinking of C&T Publishing.

We do not accept any incomplete proposals or questionnaires.

If you have any further questions, please contact the Acquisitions Department.
