Shannon Brinkley Blog Tour Kickoff!

Posted by Lynn Merrill on Aug 11th 2014

We’re thrilled to kick off Shannon Brinkley’s blog tour with a special video and a chat with Shannon about her book. Take it away, Shannon!

What I love most about the techniques that I teach in Scrappy Bits Appliqué is that, not only are they fast and easy, but quite versatile– they allow for a lot of flexibility and creative freedom. They are great for those new to quilting or appliqué, but also a lot of fun for experienced quilters, as well. The raw-edge appliqué can be done on a whole cloth quilt, like my Around the World Quilt.

It can also be used to enhance or spruce up a pieced quilt top. I’ve been having fun designing quilts where the piecing and the appliqué complement and interact with one another, like my Water for Elephants Quilt.
