It's a Precut Party with I Love Precut Quilts!

Greetings and welcome to my Precut Party Day!

My name is Tricia Maloney and I'm the author of the new C&T book,  I Love Precut Quilts!

I can't tell you how excited I am now that my book has been officially released, so let's take a little tour through my book, and I know that you'll be excited too!

THE COVER

I just love the cover, don't you? The colors just reach out and grab you. The cover quilt is called Chautauqua and fits a queen-sized bed. This quilt actually calls for a collection of half-yard cuts—you know the LARGE-sized fat quarters (wink, wink)?

I'm smiling right now as I think about Chautauqua because the name holds a lot of special memories for me—September quilting retreats with friends at Chautauqua Institution.

I can close my eyes and I'm right there. Sun filtering through brilliant red, orange, and gold leaves. The earthy tang of fall in the air. Crunching through the leaves. The rhythmic sound of water lapping along the shore and the sharp cry of sea gulls. Quilts in every style, color, and size blending together into one giant kaleidoscope. And the shopping...oh yes... the shopping.

THE CONTENTS

My book is jam-packed with more than sixteen projects, including four throws, two wall quilts (one of them would also be perfect for a baby quilt), four table runners (two have matching placemats), two bed runners, four bed-sized quilts, and a bonus pillow pattern. Whew—that's a lot of projects for one book.

ALL of the projects are fresh and fun and feature traditional piecing techniques so they are definitely beginner-friendly, but they are interesting enough to appeal to more experienced quilters.

Here's a collage of projects to tantalize you:

In addition to the actual quilt projects, you'll find a lot of other fun and useful stuff, too:

  • Tricia's Crayon Box—most of the projects feature a couple alternate colorways to get your creative juices flowing.
  • Friendly tips sprinkled though out the book.
  • A bonus coordinating pillow project.
  • Sizing options with fabric requirements.
  • A little bit about color theory and how your fabric choices can change the look and feel of your quilt.

So...what are you waiting for? Grab a copy of I Love Precut Quilts! for yourself or maybe for your favorite quilting buddy and get ready to make some fast, fun, and fresh quilts.
