Color Theme of the Day: Monochromatic Golden Yellow

Color Theme of the Day: Monochromatic Golden Yellow

Posted by Deirdre Quirk on Aug 23rd 2016

We absolutely adore the color golden yellow, so we've chosen it to be the star of its own color theme of the day! In its many tints, shades, and tones—a selection of which you can see below—golden yellow ranges from a pale peachy color to a deep rich, brown, from a buttery yellow to a burnt gold, and everything in between.

Yellow is a wonderful color for baby quilts, fall lap quilts, bright and cheery wallhangings and so much more! See a few example below and get inspired.

Combine a range of yellows with gray and white for a very modern look, like this quilt from The Modern Appliqué Workbook by Jenifer Dick.

This complex-looking quilt from Anna Faustino's Simply Stunning Seamless Quilts is easier than it looks—the golden yellow colors give it an architectural look.

Ahhh! Golden yellow is the perfect summer color for these coasters from Playful Little Paper-Pieced Projects, compiled by Tacha Bruecher.

These beautiful browns in a houndstooth pattern quilt from Judy Gauthier's Quilts for Scrap Lovers are all shades of golden yellow!

How would you use a monochromatic golden yellow color scheme?
